What is Poppets?

Poppets is our baby and Toddler group that runs each Thursday morning during school term time. We start at 9:45 and finish at 11:45am. The cost is £1.50 for the first child and 50 pence for additional children.

There’s no need to pre-book.

What do we do?

Firstly, play. We encourage creative play at Poppets. There’s lots of toys to play with individually, and also toys that encourage the children to play together and make friends. For example, some weeks we have a home corner, other we have a seaside area.

Later on in the morning we move through to our refreshment area for snack time. Snacks are included in the entrance cost. We try to provide healthy snacks for the children, always including some fruit. Sometimes treats are nice though!

Moving back in to the main hall, there’s time for some more play before we all gather together for a story time, birthdays, and finally closing with the “Poppets Song”.

Something for everyone

Whether you like hustle and bustle or peace and quiet we’ve got a place for you. The main hall has plenty of toys, a craft area and dressing up clothes, but if you need a break we have an additional quiet room with activities like puzzles and a reading corner.

Not just for the kids

Parents and carers deserve a little attention too! During the children’s snack time we supply coffee and cake for the grown-ups. We supply most of the food, but some parents like to contribute too so we have a cake rota where you can volunteer to bring some delicious cake!
